Carl Pavano saw Francisco Liriano’s 7 inning shut out yesterday and must have said “I can do that, too… only better”.
Pavano not only got the shutout (like Liriano), but he did it by throwing a complete game. 9 innings of great pitching by Pavano, giving up only 5 hits and 1 walk while striking out 4.

It’s Pavano’s 12th win this season. He’s becoming (along with Liriano) the Twins best hope for a good performance by a starting pitcher right now.
Delmon Young definitely wants to keep from being left out of these daily game discussions as well. He went 2 for 4 with 3 RBIs.
Mauer played from the DH position, presumably to give his legs a little extra rest. He went 1 for 3 with a walk. His batting average is currently sitting at .297, which is pretty low compared to his usual standards.
