Jason Kubel stepped up to the plate in this situation on Sunday afternoon and blasted his 7th career grand slam out of the park to start an avalanche of Twins home runs during the game.

The Twins hit 4 home runs in all. Besides the grand slam from Kubel, Delmon Young, Jim Thome, and Jason Repko all hit solo shots as well. The offense got some more runs through RBIs from Butera and Punto. The Twins lineup finished the day with 19 hits.
Kevin Slowey looked good on the mound, giving up 1 run in 6 innings off of 5 hits and a walk. He earned his first road victory since May 17th.
Nick Blackburn pitched 2 innings at the end of the game, but he struggled, giving up 3 runs in the ninth inning. Management let him pitch through it, but it’s obvious he wasn’t any more comfortable coming in from the bullpen as he was starting.
Did I mention that I think he should be pitching in the minors for a while?
