Jacque Jones and Justin Morneau both hit a home run in Wednesday’s Spring Training game against the Marlins. Jones’ was a 2 run shot in the third inning to get the Twins on the board first.
Kevin Slowey had another great day on the mound, pitching 5 innings and giving up only 3 hits and no walks. He struck out 5 guys. His Spring Training ERA is currently sitting at 0.56. Raunch, Maroth, and Slama also each pitched 1 inning of scoreless baseball. Rauch went 3 up, 3 down in the 4th inning.
Jacque Jones had a good hitting day. He went 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs. Tolbert went 2 for 2.

Okay, maybe “Legendary” is a bit strong, but it made for a cool title.
Liriano did look very solid, though, pitching 3 scoreless innings, striking out 4 guys, and not giving up any walks. Duensing, Liriano’s competition for the 5th starting position, gave up the only two Tamp runs on the day.
Cassilla, Butera, and Rever all hit 2-out RBIs for the Twins. Revere had two of them.
Harris, Jones, and Hudson all went 3-2 on the afternoon.
