Nick Punto missed some games.
Joe Mauer missed some games.
J.J. Hardy missed some games and still isn’t feeling perfect.
A few days ago Michael Cuddyer was brought to the infield to play second base while Orlando Hudson nursed a wrist injury and Casilla healed from elbow surgery, but now tragedy will pull Cuddyer from the lineup as well. He’s going to miss 4 games because of the death of his father-in-law.
For that time, the Twins will bring up minor-league 3rd baseman Danny Valencia. Chances are, Valencia will play 3rd and Punto will move over to second base.
Hopefully things will start going better for the Twins starting lineup soon so they can push through the second half of the season at full force.
