The Minnesota Twins bounced back from their back to back losses in detroit in a very convincing fashion Friday night, beating up on the Cleveland Indians by a score of 9-3.
Kevin Slowey made the start for the Twins because of some shuffling due to Blackburn not being able to pitch. Slowey gave up 3 runs in 5 innings. He probably would’ve liked to have made it a little longer into the game, but the in the end his performance was more than enough because of a good performance at the plate by Minnesota.
Morneau came back from his back-stiffness problems by hitting a home run in the first inning. It was a two run shot, and his fifth homer on the season. It was his only hit of the game, but he did reach on a walk as well. Span, Cuddyer, Mauer, and Kubel all had RBIs as well, and Hudson added two of his own.
Orlando Hudson went 3 for 4 at the plate, pulling his batting average up to .301. He was also walked once. Jason Kubel got 2 hits on the night. He’s still not quite back to last year’s form, but he’s slowly pulling his average up. It’s currently at .219. Last week it was below .170 at one point.
